STORK'S NEST
Stork's Nest is designed to promote prenatal care participation and healthy behaviors during the pregnancy through two components - incentives and education. Stork's Nest clients "earn" points toward incentives, such as maternity or baby care items, through a variety of positive, health-promoting activities such as attending prenatal care appointments, participating in prenatal education classes, keeping appointments for well-baby visits. The Stork's Nest prenatal education sessions provide information, educational materials, and a variety of other resources and referrals that help clients take good care of themselves and their babies.
In 2012, Zeta celebrated its 40th anniversary of collaboration with the March of Dimes.
PROJECT GIVEBACK
Every Year members of Omicron Theta Zeta Chapter partners with their youth affiliate group and other local chapters and organizations come together for a day of community service.
The event takes place leading up the Thanksgiving Holiday and all these organizations come together to package food baskets to give to families that are less fortunate in the Washington D.C. Metro area to give them the holiday they hope for.
This massive coordinated community service event brings together all walks of life to do something positive for the community and to uplift the spirits of everyone around the holidays.
MARCH OF DIMES
March of Dimes is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that raises funds to create and build awareness about how prematurity affects infants and the implications it can have on children as they grow even into adulthood. This partnership provides a platform of awareness and education in our community about this issue by providing avenues of encouragement for pregnant women to seek prenatal care early in their pregnancy as well as providing educational material about prematurity.
OTZ is a major participant in the Annual March for Babies. This is the March of Dimes' largest and most visible effort to secure funds to aid in the fight against prematurity.
